Episcopal Relief and Development is committed to continuing distribution of essential cleaning supplies, building materials, medicines, food and other needs through the next year. While many other organizations are shutting down warehouses in the affected areas, ERD and its local partners see the need for providing first aid equipment, cleaning supplies and other essentials as people return to their areas. ERD’s partnerships with the Diocese of Mississippi (LESM) and the Diocese of Louisiana (ODR) are operating 10 distribution centers throughout the Gulf Coast area. At the centers, ERD’s local partners house and deploy self supporting volunteers, provide relief and building supplies through church and other affinity networks and continue to help local communities recover. ERD supports local coordinators who organize, house and deploy self supporting volunteers, provide medical care and building crews, help shelter and resettle evacuee families and other essential tasks.
For information on volunteering, please contact the local program partners in the Diocese of Mississippi (LESM), and the Diocese of Louisiana (ODR).
