ERD Plans Four-Phase, Multi-Year Response to Hurricanes

ERD Assisting Communities Affected by Hurricanes Rita and Katrina
(9/26/2005) Episcopal Relief and Development is working with Episcopal dioceses affected by Hurricane Rita. The hurricane made landfall along the Texas-Louisiana border early Saturday morning with 120 mph winds. Up to 15 inches of water caused by flooding is left in some areas.

Hurricane Katrina Update
(9/2/2005) Thank you for your overwhelming generosity in response to the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. So far, we have received over $800,000 in donations, mostly online. Checks sent via mail are just beginning to come in, and we hope to raise much more.
An ERD assessment team has reached the affected region, and is currently meeting with local partners. The reports have been devastating.

ERD Launches Full-Scale Response to Hurricane Katrina
(9/1/2005) Episcopal Relief and Development is launching a full-scale, multi-state response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. We responded immediately to the crisis, sending over $100,000 in emergency funds to four dioceses affected by the hurricane. Episcopalians Mobilize in Katrina's Aftermath
(Wednesday, August 31, 2005) Hurricane Katrina is leaving a path of destruction across the Gulf States -- causing flooding, power outages, tornadoes and looting. The effects of the storm are far-reaching. Entire towns are completely underwater. Millions of homes are without power. Tens of thousands have lost homes, businesses and loved ones and more than 100 people have been killed. Experts expect the death toll will continue to rise in the days ahead.
