The Katrina Recovery Center provides information and resources about ERD's partnerships to serve people affected by Hurricane Katrina.
ERD has been on the ground in devastated communities along the Gulf Coast since the immediate aftermath of Katrina. We provided critical supplies including food, water, and medicine. Together with our partners, ERD is now implementing recovery programs that meet the present needs of the most vulnerable and marginalized, while addressing the long-term economic and development challenges in affected communities.
In partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana's Office of Disaster Response, the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi, Lutheran Episcopal Services of Mississippi, and Episcopal Migration Ministries, ERD is providing case management services, psycho-social counseling and health care, assistance in rebuilding homes and livelihoods, and affordable home ownership programs.
Volunteers continue to play an important role in the rebuilding of communities in both Louisiana and Mississippi. To obtain further information about volunteer opportunities, please contact our partners directly by following the links under "Our Partners."
