The Rev. John N. Sidebotham (Illinois)

The Rev. John N. Sidebotham is Rector of The Church of the Holy Spirit, Lake Forest, Illinois. Prior to that, he sequentially served as Vicar of St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City, Rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Durham, North Carolina and Assistant to the Rector at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, in Providence, Rhode Island. 

Before attending the seminary, Mr. Sidebotham worked as an art director, graphic designer, illustrator and animator in New York City. Currently he is an author and illustrator for the Church Pension Group and Morehouse Publishing where he produces the art for the Church Pension Group Calendar, Advent and Lenten calendars and books for children of all ages. His artwork was featured in Episcopal Relief & Development’s 2008 Lenten Devotional.

Mr. Sidebotham is on the Board of Directors of Forward Movement Publications and Presbyterian Homes. He is a member of Urban Suburban Colleague Group and the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes.

Mr. Sidebotham received his BA from Trinity College, Hartford and his MDiv from the Union Theological Seminary, New York. He and his wife, Frances Murchison, have a son and a daughter.
