After Hurricane Ike, St. Vincent’s House, a non-profit social service agency in Galveston Texas, sustained major flood damage. Kimberly and Allyson, two members of St. Christopher’s Church in League City, Texas felt called to reach out to help the children of St. Vincent’s. They had a great idea!

The volunteers gathered hundreds of recipes from relatives, friends and notable members of their community including President and Mrs. George H. W. Bush. They were able to collect more than 500 recipes for their The Hope Cookbook, which is now available for sale at www.stchrischurch.org.

Their goal is to raise enough to restore St. Vincent’s preschool, computer lab and kitchen. This local fundraiser will have a huge impact on the Galveston community.
