Episcopal Relief and Develoment Sunday
The Presiding Bishop has declared the first Sunday in Lent—February 10, 2008—to be Episcopal Relief and Development Sunday.  In establishing this annual event, Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori encourages Episcopalians in congregations across the country to engage in the Episcopal Church’s ongoing commitment to fight extreme poverty and disease.

By supporting Episcopal Relief and Development Sunday, you will save lives by fighting preventable diseases and promoting health care in communities in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.  All gifts will be designated to the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Inspiration Fund, a joint project of Episcopal Relief and Development, Jubilee Ministries and the Executive Council of the Episcopal Church.  The MDG Inspiration Fund targets programs that prevent needless deaths from malaria and HIV/AIDS—a high priority for many of our partners in the worldwide Church.
