US Emergency Relief Program
Episcopal Relief & Development’s US Emergency Relief Program assists diocesan leaders in responding to disasters by providing them with access to the "Ready to Serve" volunteer database, technical resources and connections to their peers around the country who have faced similar challenges. When necessary, Episcopal Relief & Development may also provide emergency financial assistance to supplement these resources, enabling churches to help the most vulnerable in their communities. Disbursement of emergency funds is coordinated solely through the local bishop’s office, often with the help of a Diocesan Disaster Coordinator who communicates with the Program Manager of Episcopal Relief & Development’s US Disaster Program.
In most cases, emergency relief programs are planned and completed within a few months following a disaster.
