The Rev. Karen B. Montagno, Massachusetts

THE REV. KAREN B. MONTAGNO has worked for over 21 years in higher education. For many of those years, she was directly involved in seminary theological education, pastoral care studies and community development. She is co-editor of Injustice and the Care of Souls.

Ms. Montagno is Priest Associate at Christ Church Cambridge and First Vice President for the Massachusetts Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians. She is Vice Chair of the Executive Committee of Episcopal City Mission, Associate of the Society of St. John the Evangelist and a Colleague of Bethany House of Prayer, a ministry with the Sisters of St. Anne-Bethany.

She served as Dean of Students for 13 years at Episcopal Divinity School, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, nine of those years as Dean of St. John’s Memorial Chapel. Ms. Montagno has a keen interest in spiritual formation and vocation and both international and domestic development. Consequently, she has served as a faculty team member of the South Africa Study Tour. In addition to South Africa, Ms. Montagno has also taken part in mission trips to Honduras and Panama.
