Meredith A. Brown (Long Island)

Ms. Meredith A. Brown serves on the Board of Directors of the Patricia D. and William B. Smullin Foundation and is engaged with next generation philanthropy. The daughter of an Episcopal priest and a Christian educator, she is a lifelong Episcopalian. Ms. Brown has been active in the church locally as a leader in Episcopal youth groups, education, and service projects; nationally as a volunteer at several General Conventions and an editor of the 74th General Convention Blue Book and Constitution and Canons; and internationally as a student at St. George's College in Jerusalem and an active member of the International Youth ministry at St. James Episcopal Church in Florence, Italy. Ms. Brown holds a BA in art and art history from Stanford University and an MA in art history from the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London.

Ms. Brown is currently a PhD Candidate in Art History at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London, where she has also been a Visiting Lecturer and Associate Scholar. Her scholarship has been supported by the Smithsonian Institution, the Terra Foundation for American Art, the University of London, and the United Kingdom's Department for Education. Her current research interests focus on the intersection of feminist politics and pedagogy, representations of labor and bureaucracy, and artistic collaboration. She has previously worked at Resnicow Schroeder Associates in New York as a strategic planning and media relations consultant for art museums and cultural institutions across the United States, and prior to that directed the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum's internship program for college students and recent graduates.

Ms. Brown currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
