What is Bishops Blend?
Episcopal Relief & Development is partnering with Pura Vida Coffee to sell and distribute a premium line of coffees and teas called Bishops Blend throughout the Episcopal Church. Bishops Blend coffees are Fair Trade certified, organic and shade grown from Central America, Africa and Indonesia. Bishops Blend Teas are organic Moroccan mint and fair trade organic Earl Grey.
Who is Pura Vida Coffee?
Pura Vida Coffee is a Seattle-based company committed to partnering with organizations like Episcopal Relief & Development. The mission of Pura Vida is to use all of its resources and energy to do as much for coffee farmers and their families as possible. By devoting resources back to coffee-growing communities in the form of health, education and infrastructure projects, Pura Vida is helping to create strong and sustainable communities.
Who is Numi Tea? Episcopal Relief & Development and Pura Vida Coffee have partnered with Numi Tea to bring you delicious organic and Fair Trade certified teas. These teas are available under the Bishops Blend brand, bringing more resources to the work of Episcopal Relief & Development and Pura Vida.

We named Bishops Blend in honor of all our bishops in The Episcopal Church and throughout the Anglican Communion.

What do Fair Trade, organic and shade grown mean?
Fair Trade coffee and tea is purchased from small farmers and guarantees that farmers who grow and process the beans or leaves receive a fair price. Organic coffee and tea is grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Shade-grown coffee and tea are cultivated beneath a tree canopy, which protects plants from intense heat and uses the plant’s leaves to return vital nutrients to the soil.
How much does Bishops Blend coffee cost?
Bishops Blend Coffee comes in 12-ounce bags and 6-pound cases. The price for a 12-ounce bag is $9.95 for Regular, Kaldi's Roast and Café de la Paz and $10.95 for Decaf and Bishops Vanilla Bean. Bulk and recurring orders receive discounts based on quantity and frequency.
How much does Bishops Blend tea cost?
Bishops Blend Tea comes in a box with 18 full-leaf tea bags in a box and 6 boxes in a case. The price for one box is $7.00. The price for a case is $40.10.
How much does shipping cost?
The shipping costs for Bishops Blend orders are calculated by weight. However, all orders over $30 qualify for free shipping.
What percentage from the sale of Bishop Blend coffees goes directly to Episcopal Relief & Development?
Episcopal Relief & Development receives 15% of the purchase price from the sale of each bag and box of Bishops Blend coffee and tea.
How does Episcopal Relief & Development use the proceeds of Bishops Blend?
All proceeds raised through Bishops Blend go into Episcopal Relief & Development’s General Fund so they can be used for the areas of greatest need — whether it’s programs in the areas of alleviating hunger and improving the food supply, creating economic opportunities and strengthening communities, promoting health and fighting disease, or responding to disasters and rebuilding communities.

What is the Constant Cup Program?
The Constant Cup Program provides the opportunity to order Bishops Blend on a regular basis. Participants will receive a regular supply of Bishops Blend shipped to their home or office.
Can I order Bishops Blend coffee in large quantities?
You can order Bishops Blend in bulk. Generally, the coffee is ordered in five-pound increments. Pura Vida Coffee can accommodate orders of up to 200 pounds per month. A customer service representative will work with you to determine the amount appropriate for your parish, church or organization.
Can I order Bishops Blend for a fundraiser?
Congregations, dioceses and other organizations are encouraged to order Bishops Blend to support local projects and help Episcopal Relief & Development. To place an order, use the fundraising order form or speak with a Pura Vida representative at 877.469.1431. Your group can choose to sell each bag for a minimum price of $11 and make a $2-$5 profit per bag!
